it’s pretty cool how this design came together. it started off in Alicante at the spanish origami convention in may where  Javi (i think he’s 12) taught me Michael G. LaFosse’s F-14 paper plane. in june when we had a late night folding session at the german convention in Berlin i was teaching the model. when Robert J. Lang decided to join the group we had already completed the frog-base. as he was catching up he modified the tail with a lock which i then incorporated in to my design. finally in july at the OUSA in New York, Bernie Payton took my swallow class and explained to me that the beak needed to be wider, so i took his advice and made the beak wider. i guess this is a perfect example of how sometimes several sources of inspiration come together in one design… and it’s not always origami luminaries that involved.

    Great Composition!!!

I especially like the depth, sense of flight/motion and the plasticity of the swallow which is evident even from above…. any more pix?
    Keep the great work up!

    Hallo,

well i’m not sure about publishing this design. if i do so, it might be a stop motion animation.

I would like instructions on how to make a swallow. As a first time oragami student, film direction, as with the koi, would be of great assistance. If you do not supply instructions, do you sell finished project? These are wonderful, imaginative pieces of artwork. Thank you for sharing them with us.

It feels like a still from Alfred Hitchcocks “The Birds”, quite amazing. Your work is incredible.

This is wonderfully elegant but simple design. Thanks for sharing the design process with us, I’m curious to know what paper you folded them from?

Mabona I pay respect you. I wanted to fold many things but I have no foundation of origami. Please teach me the basics.
    Thanks
